ABOUT
About Kenneth Jackson
Technology architect and creative producer bridging code, sound, and systems. Based in Amarillo, Texas.
I'm Kenneth Jackson, the person behind KennethJackson.Tech. I build software, produce audio and video, manage technical infrastructure, and perform live electronic music. Whether I'm writing Swift code for iOS apps, mixing audio at The Woodshed, administering Linux servers, or patching modular synthesizers for a live set, I approach every project with the same principle: technology should empower creativity and solve real problems.
Based in Amarillo, Texas, I work with musicians, businesses, creative professionals, and organizations who need technical expertise combined with creative vision.
What I Do
Software Development
I create native iOS and macOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI, build custom WordPress solutions from simple sites to complex e-commerce platforms, and develop professional audio plugins using JUCE, Max/MSP, and embedded systems on Electrosmith Daisy hardware. Every application is built to specifications with clean code, thoughtful architecture, and solutions designed for real-world use.
Audio & Video Production
From The Woodshed studio, I provide professional recording, mixing, video production, and live streaming services. Multi-camera event coverage, podcast production, music recording, and complete live event production with real-time streaming to YouTube, Facebook, and custom platforms.
IT & Systems Administration
Comprehensive technical support and systems administration for macOS, iOS, Linux servers, and cloud infrastructure. I troubleshoot technical issues, configure and maintain servers, optimize WordPress installations, and provide specialized support for creative software including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Bitwig Studio, and Final Cut Pro.
Creative Technology & Live Performance
As itK, I perform live electronic music using an extensive modular synthesizer collection including the custom oZm Eurorack system, Expressive E Osmose, Moog Messenger, and hundreds of modules spanning multiple manufacturers. Regular live streams showcase real-time composition and sound design.
Why This Combination Works
Most technology professionals specialize narrowly. My practice spans all three domains, and that breadth creates real advantages for clients. A musician who needs both a website and studio production gets someone who understands both worlds. A business that needs an iOS app backed by a WordPress API gets cohesive integration from a single developer who owns the entire stack.
The cross-disciplinary experience shapes how I approach every project. The attention to user experience that Apple development demands influences how I design interfaces. The real-time performance constraints of audio DSP inform how I optimize applications. The creative problem-solving required to build instruments and effects carries into every technical decision.
Perhaps most importantly: the tools I build often get tested in live performance. Audio plugins are stress-tested in actual recording sessions. Embedded effects get patched into the modular synthesizer and used on stage. This feedback loop between engineering and creative practice means the solutions I deliver are informed by real-world demands.
Background & Experience
My technical foundation was built managing systems infrastructure in the banking industry during the late '80s and early '90s — securities transaction processing, trust accounting systems, and complex integrations during bank mergers and acquisitions. That experience taught systematic thinking, attention to detail, and the importance of reliability when systems can't fail.
In 1994, I founded Connections Information Systems with a straightforward mission: bring enterprise-quality computing to small businesses. The practice evolved from building early web presence on CompuServe in 1992 through the Flash era to modern WordPress development, mobile applications, and cloud infrastructure.
Parallel to the business technology work, I've maintained an active practice in audio production and electronic music. What started as studio work for local musicians expanded into multi-camera video production, live streaming infrastructure, and eventually the itK live performance project. The Woodshed studio represents the convergence of these paths.
The Woodshed Studio
The Woodshed serves as both a client production facility and a creative laboratory. The space houses professional recording equipment, multi-camera video infrastructure, live streaming capabilities, and an ever-growing collection of synthesizers and electronic instruments. It's where client recording sessions happen, where live streams originate, where audio plugins get tested under real conditions, and where the boundary between technical work and creative practice dissolves.
Philosophy
Technology should empower creativity, not hinder it. Whether writing code, mixing audio, configuring servers, or patching synthesizers, the goal is always to create systems that work elegantly and enable people to do their best work.
I believe in understanding the full stack — from low-level DSP algorithms to user interface design, from database optimization to live performance technique. The best solutions emerge from seeing the complete picture, not just isolated technical components.
Every client relationship starts with listening. What are you trying to accomplish? What problems need solving? What constraints are you working within? From that foundation, we build solutions tailored to your specific needs.
