How to Use Video

YouTube is the worlds largest video sharing community. You probably noticed that we use YouTube to host most of our videos.

Setting up a YouTube account is easy. You use your Google Account to signup for YouTube.

How To Setup a Youtube Channel

  1. Go to YouTube.com
  2. Click “Create Account” in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Video Production

Connections Information Systems is an Apple Shop and for content creation we use two main programs. iMovie for post production and Camtasia For Mac for screen capture. With the exception of the camera and screen capture software Macs come with everything you need to produce High Definition Video and Audio for your productions. You can even easily create jingles for you video using Garage Band.

I never have never really produced much video on a PC. It was just too big of a pain. There are some things we have to do on a PC and for these we use Pinnacle Studio and Camtasia Suite For Windows.

If at all possible capture your video in HD from the start. When buying equipment you want to capture, edit and distribute your video in HD. HD is no longer the future it is the now and is rapidly becoming the minimum standard.

The Camera

When looking for a Camera buy the highest resolution camera you can afford with the highest zoom. SD Memory cards are the fastest way to transfer your video to your computer. We also want a camera with an external audio input. Sound quality is at least as important as video quality and probably more so. People will not set through a video with low sound quality. We use a Blue Snowball Mic with our screen capture demonstrations and a Sennheiser Shotgun Mic with our video shoots.
