This video shows the options you have when adding your WordPress post to social networks including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Tumblr. We demonstrate how to post to Facebook and Twitter manually and with HootSuite. We also demonstrate posting automatically with the Jetpack plugin for WordPress, and Buffer App.
Manual Posting
HootSuite
Wouldn’t it be nice if you can keep up with everything on one page? HootSuite is an online social media client that allows you to view and manage all your social networks from one page. It also allows you to schedule posts so that they are received when they’re most likely to be viewed and acted on.
Auto Posting
Connections ProSites provides two options for auto-posting to your social networks.
Auto Posting With JetPack
JetPack is a WordPress mega-plugin that adds several features to your WordPress site. The feature we are interested in the Publicize option. This feature does two things.
First JetPack allows you to connect your blog to popular social networking sites and automatically share new posts with your followers. You can make a connection for just yourself or for all users on your blog. Shared connections are marked with the (Shared) text. You can use this feature with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumbler, and Yahoo. When you post to WordPress you can choose which of these networks are automatically updated.
The second JetPack allows us to add sharing buttons on your blog post, pages, and media allowing your visitors to share your posts with their friends. Available services include Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tumbler, Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Digg. It also allows your followers to easily email or print your page.
To set up JetPack, you need a WordPress.com user id.
