General Questions

What services do you offer?

I provide four main service categories: Software Development (iOS/macOS apps, WordPress sites, audio plugins), Audio & Video Production (recording, mixing, video production, live streaming), IT & Systems (technical support, systems administration, WordPress maintenance), and Creative Technology (live electronic music, modular synthesis consulting). Many clients work with me across multiple service areas.

Where are you located?

I’m based in Amarillo, Texas. For local clients in the Texas Panhandle, I provide full on-site services including production work at The Woodshed studio, live event coverage, and in-person IT support. For development work, IT support, and consulting, I work with clients nationwide through remote collaboration.

Do you work with clients outside of Amarillo?

Absolutely. Development projects, IT support, and consulting work happen remotely with clients across the United States. For production services requiring physical presence (live events, on-site video shoots), I’m available regionally throughout Texas and surrounding states with appropriate travel arrangements. Remote mixing, post-production, and live streaming services are available worldwide.

How do I get started?

The first step is always a conversation. Contact me to describe your project or schedule a free 30-minute consultation. We’ll discuss your goals, timeline, and requirements. From there, I’ll provide a detailed proposal outlining scope, deliverables, timeline, and pricing. No pressure, no obligation—just an honest conversation about what’s possible.

What makes you different from other developers/producers/IT providers?

Most tech professionals specialize in one narrow area. My practice spans software development, audio/video production, and systems administration—with real experience in each domain. This means I understand how all the pieces fit together. A musician who needs both a website and studio production gets someone who speaks both languages. A business needing an app backed by a WordPress API gets seamless integration from a single developer. Plus, the tools I build often get tested in live performance at The Woodshed, creating a feedback loop between engineering and real-world creative use.

Can you work within my budget?

I work with clients at different budget levels by scaling solutions to fit. A startup might begin with a streamlined MVP while an established business invests in a comprehensive platform. Production clients might book a single session or commit to ongoing monthly work. During our initial consultation, be upfront about your budget and I’ll tell you honestly what’s achievable within those parameters. Sometimes that means phasing a project, sometimes it means adjusting scope, but there’s usually a way to deliver real value.

Software Development

How long does it take to develop an iOS app?

Timeline varies significantly based on complexity. A simple single-purpose utility might take 4-6 weeks. A feature-rich app with backend integration, complex UI, and multiple screens typically takes 3-6 months. Enterprise applications with extensive requirements can extend beyond that. During project planning, I provide a realistic timeline broken down by milestone, so you’ll know exactly what to expect.

Do you develop Android apps?

My development focus is iOS, macOS, and cross-platform web applications. I don’t currently develop native Android apps. However, for projects requiring both platforms, I can recommend trusted Android developers or we can explore cross-platform solutions using web technologies.

Can you build a WordPress site from scratch?

Yes. I develop custom WordPress sites including custom theme development, plugin creation, WooCommerce e-commerce integration, and advanced custom post type architectures. Whether you need a portfolio site, business website, or full e-commerce platform, I build WordPress solutions tailored to your specific requirements—not just modified templates.

Will I be able to update my website myself?

Absolutely. Every WordPress site I build includes a content management system that lets you update text, images, blog posts, and other content without technical knowledge. I provide training on how to use your specific site, and I’m always available for questions. For more complex updates (design changes, new features), I’m here to help or you can hire another developer—you own the site completely.

What happens after my app or website launches?

Development work includes a 30-day warranty period for bug fixes related to the original specification. After that, I offer maintenance and support packages for ongoing updates, feature additions, and technical support. Many clients continue working with me for iterative improvements and new features as their needs evolve.

Can you help with App Store submission?

Yes. iOS and macOS development projects include App Store preparation, submission assistance, and guidance through Apple’s review process. I handle the technical requirements (screenshots, metadata, build submission) and help you craft effective store listings. This includes TestFlight beta testing before public release.

Do you do website redesigns?

Yes. Website redesigns follow the same process as new builds—discovery, planning, design, development, launch. I can work with your existing hosting and domain setup or migrate you to new infrastructure if needed. If your current site is WordPress, I can often preserve content while completely rebuilding the design and functionality.

Audio & Video Production

What is The Woodshed?

The Woodshed is my project studio in Amarillo, Texas, equipped for audio recording, video production, and live streaming. The space houses professional recording equipment, multi-camera video setup, and an extensive collection of synthesizers and hardware instruments. It’s both a production facility for client work and a creative laboratory where I develop and test audio tools.

Can I book studio time at The Woodshed?

Yes. The Woodshed is available for recording sessions, video shoots, mixing projects, and creative collaboration. Schedule a session or contact me to discuss your project and check availability. Sessions include engineering and production support—you’re not just renting a room.

Do you travel for live event production?

Yes. For live events, I bring a complete mobile production rig including cameras, audio equipment, streaming hardware, and all necessary cables and infrastructure. I’m available throughout the Texas Panhandle and regionally across Texas and surrounding states. Larger events or multi-day productions include appropriate travel and logistics planning.

What equipment do you use?

Audio production runs through professional interfaces, a curated microphone collection including condensers and dynamics, quality preamps, and outboard processing. Software includes Ableton Live, Bitwig Studio, Logic Pro, and Max/MSP. Video production uses Blackmagic Design switching hardware, professional cameras, and streaming infrastructure supporting YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and custom RTMP destinations. All equipment is regularly maintained and backed up for critical productions.

Can you live stream to multiple platforms simultaneously?

Yes. My streaming setup supports simultaneous broadcasting to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and any custom RTMP destination. This includes real-time graphics integration, multi-camera switching, and professional audio mixing. I handle all technical aspects so you can focus on your content and audience.

What’s your turnaround time for mixing or video editing?

Turnaround depends on project complexity and current workload. A typical single song mix takes 3-5 business days. Multi-song projects or albums are scheduled based on scope. Video editing turnaround ranges from 1 week for simple projects to 2-3 weeks for complex multi-camera edits with graphics and color correction. Rush services are available for time-sensitive projects with appropriate scheduling.

Do you offer podcast production services?

Yes. Podcast services include recording, editing, mixing, mastering, and publishing assistance. Whether you need a one-time recording or ongoing production support for a regular show, I provide professional audio quality and reliable delivery. Remote podcast recording is available for guests in different locations.

IT & Systems

Do you provide emergency IT support?

Emergency support is available for established clients with active support agreements. Response time is typically within 2 hours during business hours. For clients without support agreements, I prioritize based on availability and can often accommodate urgent requests—contact me to discuss your situation.

What is your IT support coverage area?

For on-site support, I serve Amarillo and the surrounding Texas Panhandle area. Remote support is available nationwide for issues that don’t require physical presence—system troubleshooting, software configuration, WordPress maintenance, server administration, and more. Most technical issues can be resolved remotely, with on-site visits reserved for hardware problems or complex network setups.

Can you help with Mac and PC?

My primary expertise is macOS, iOS, and Linux systems. I provide comprehensive support for Apple devices and can handle most Windows issues, though complex Windows server administration or enterprise Active Directory work may require a specialist. If your needs are primarily Windows-based, I can recommend qualified providers.

Do you offer monthly IT support contracts?

Yes. Monthly retainer agreements provide priority scheduling, discounted hourly rates, and proactive monitoring. Retainers work well for businesses needing ongoing support, WordPress site maintenance, or regular systems administration. We’ll determine the right level of support hours based on your typical needs.

Can you manage WordPress hosting and security?

Absolutely. WordPress management services include hosting configuration, security hardening, regular updates, performance optimization, backup management, and uptime monitoring. I work with sites hosted on various platforms including Google Cloud (where this site runs), traditional shared hosting, and VPS environments. Proactive maintenance prevents problems before they impact your site.

What’s included in systems administration services?

Systems administration covers server setup and configuration, operating system installation and maintenance, security updates and monitoring, backup solutions, network configuration, user management, and application deployment. Whether you need Linux server administration, macOS infrastructure management, or WordPress hosting optimization, I provide the systematic approach that keeps technology running reliably.

Pricing & Payment

How much do your services cost?

Pricing varies by service type and project scope. Development projects are quoted based on requirements and complexity. Production services are priced hourly for studio time or as day rates for live events. IT support is available hourly or through monthly retainer agreements. During our initial consultation, I’ll provide specific pricing based on your needs. The goal is always to deliver strong value for your investment.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, for most projects. Development work typically requires 50% deposit upon contract signing, with remaining payments at milestones or completion. Production services for live events require 50% deposit at booking. Studio sessions are paid at time of booking or upon completion. Deposits secure your timeline and cover initial project setup work.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept credit cards, ACH bank transfers, PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App. Active clients receive invoices through the secure client portal with online payment processing. For quick payments or deposits, direct payment apps are available. Established business clients may qualify for Net 15 payment terms. See full details on the payments page.

Can projects be billed in phases?

Yes. Larger projects are often structured with milestone-based billing, which spreads payments over the project timeline. We can also phase project scope—building core functionality first, then adding features in subsequent phases as budget allows. This approach works particularly well for development projects and ongoing production relationships.

What is your refund policy?

Refund policies vary by service type. Digital products have a 14-day defect-based refund window. Physical products can be returned within 30 days if unused and in original condition. Service deposits are generally non-refundable once work begins, but I work collaboratively to ensure satisfaction throughout projects. Complete details are available on the refund and returns policy page.

Process & Timeline

What information do you need to provide a quote?

For development projects: description of what you want to build, target platforms, key features, reference examples, timeline expectations, and budget range. For production work: event type, date, location, expected duration, number of cameras/streams needed, and deliverable requirements. For IT services: current infrastructure, specific issues or goals, number of users/devices, and support expectations. The more detail you provide, the more accurate the quote.

How involved will I be in the development process?

As involved as you want to be. Development projects include regular check-ins and milestone reviews where you provide feedback. Some clients prefer weekly updates and detailed involvement in design decisions. Others trust me to execute and check in at major milestones. We’ll establish a communication rhythm that works for your schedule and preferences.

What if I need changes mid-project?

Minor adjustments within the original scope are normal and expected. Significant changes that alter project scope, timeline, or technical requirements are handled through a change order process—we’ll discuss the impact and adjust the agreement accordingly. The goal is flexibility while maintaining clear expectations on both sides.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. If your project requires confidentiality beyond my standard business practices, I’m happy to sign reasonable non-disclosure agreements. All client work is treated as confidential by default—I don’t share project details, source code, or proprietary information without explicit permission.

Will I own the code/files you create?

Yes. Upon full payment, you own all deliverables created specifically for your project—source code, design files, audio/video recordings, documentation, etc. This is specified in project agreements. You’re free to modify, extend, or hire other developers to work on your project in the future.

Technical Questions

What programming languages and frameworks do you use?

For Apple platforms: Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, Core Data, CloudKit, and the full iOS/macOS framework stack. For web development: PHP, JavaScript, React, HTML/CSS, WordPress core. For audio development: C++ with JUCE framework, Max/MSP, RNBO, and Electrosmith Daisy platform (C/C++). The choice of technology depends on project requirements, not personal preference.

Do you use pre-built templates or build from scratch?

For WordPress sites, it depends on project needs and budget. Simple sites might start with a quality theme framework that’s heavily customized. Complex projects with specific requirements get custom theme development from scratch. For iOS apps and audio plugins, everything is built custom to your specifications—there’s no template approach. I’ll recommend the most appropriate solution for your goals and budget.

Can you integrate with third-party services and APIs?

Yes. Common integrations include payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), email services (Mailchimp, SendGrid), CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot), analytics (Google Analytics, Mixpanel), social media platforms, and countless others. If you need your app or website to connect with existing tools, I can build those integrations.

Do you provide hosting for websites you build?

I don’t directly provide hosting, but I can set up and manage hosting on your behalf using platforms like Google Cloud (where this site runs), AWS, or traditional WordPress hosts. You maintain direct control and ownership of your hosting account. I can also work with your existing hosting provider if you prefer to keep current arrangements.

Creative Technology & Music

What is itK?

itK is my live electronic music project featuring modular synthesizers, hardware instruments, and real-time composition. I perform and stream regularly, exploring the intersection of technology and sound design. The same technical knowledge that goes into building audio software gets applied to creating and performing music. You can watch live streams on the Live page or check out recordings in the itK gallery.

Can you help me build a modular synthesizer system?

Yes. I provide modular synthesis consulting covering system planning, module recommendations, patching techniques, and creative workflow development. Whether you’re just starting with Eurorack or expanding an existing system, I can help you make informed decisions based on hands-on experience with hundreds of modules.

Do you perform live?

Yes. itK is available for bookings including experimental music showcases, electronic music events, art installations, and creative technology demonstrations. Performance setup is flexible—from intimate ambient sets to full-scale modular performances with video projection. Contact me to discuss your event.

Can you develop custom audio hardware or Eurorack modules?

Yes. I develop custom audio effects and instruments for the Electrosmith Daisy platform, which can be deployed as standalone devices, guitar pedals, or Eurorack modules. This includes DSP programming, hardware prototyping, and user interface design. If you have an idea for a custom audio tool, let’s discuss making it real.
